On October 20, we visited Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Hamm. There we were able to take a look at the logistics center from incoming goods to outgoing goods.
We were welcomed by Maike, Philipp, and Pedro from Arvato. This was followed by a detailed tour of the warehouse with discussions on the idea behind the current design and the issues addressed. Various difficulties pertaining to the reality of logistics environments, and technologies and research in the direction of improvements were discussed between the two teams. We would like to thank the Arvato team for accommodating us in their schedule, giving us wonderful insights, and being generous hosts. In the future we plan a closer exchange regarding research projects and student work.
